At The Tamale Grammar School (TTGS), we proudly run the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum, enhanced with innovative teaching strategies that reflect our commitment to excellence in foundational learning and character development. Our academic program is carefully designed to meet the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of our pupils, with a special emphasis on the following core areas:

We place strong focus on building a solid foundation in reading, writing, and mathematics from the early years. Through phonics, guided reading, spelling, arithmetic, and problem-solving activities, pupils gain essential communication and analytical skills. These competencies are reinforced daily through structured instruction, individual practice, and group learning.

In today’s digital world, technology literacy is not optional. At TTGS, we integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into classroom learning from the early grades. Pupils are introduced to computers, digital tools, and basic coding concepts to enhance their critical thinking, creativity, and digital responsibility. ICT is both a subject and a cross-cutting tool used to support lessons across disciplines.

Language education is central to cognitive development and cultural identity. In addition to English, which is our primary medium of instruction, we offer French to broaden pupils’ global communication skills. We also teach Dagbani, our local language, to preserve cultural heritage and help pupils stay connected to their community. Bilingual exposure supports improved comprehension, empathy, and social integration.

Creativity is at the heart of learning. Our Creative Arts program includes drawing, music, drama, dance, and craftwork, giving pupils a platform to express themselves and build self-confidence. These activities also nurture teamwork, innovation, and fine motor skills. Weekly sessions are interactive and project-based, often integrated with other learning areas.

Education at TTGS goes beyond academics. We incorporate Life Skills and Moral Education to help children grow into respectful, responsible, and resilient individuals. Pupils are taught essential skills such as hygiene, conflict resolution, empathy, safety, time management, and leadership. Through class discussions, role-play, and community involvement, we instill strong values and ethical thinking.

By delivering a well-rounded, child-centered curriculum, The Tamale Grammar School ensures pupils are not only academically prepared but also emotionally intelligent and socially grounded. We are committed to "Building Bright Foundations" for lifelong success.
